From 1st May 2009 Q8Aviation became a supplier at Stuttgart Airport in Germany – securing our first international airline customer, Turkish Airways.
Entry into Stuttgart is a further sign of Q8Aviation’s continuing strategy to strengthen our network and is a welcome addition to our portfolio of regional airports with strong growth, despite the current worldwide recession.
Due to the strong growth at the airport a new fuel storage farm was required. This has been designed and constructed by Skytanking, a subsidiary of Marquard & Bahls, who also have the contract to operate the facility and to provide an into-plane service.
As a result Q8 Aviation and Skytanking’s businesses have combined, in Stuttgart, illustrating the ability of both companies to work together to achieve a common goal.
Julian Amesbury, Q8 Aviation’s Operations Manager – Italy and North West Europe commented that: "the benefits for Stuttgart were easy to identify for both parties. By working together we could see the potential for Q8Aviation to use our fuel and marketing expertise and for Skytanking to provide a safe and high quality service to our customers on the apron."
