Q8Aviation has started marketing jet fuel at Rome Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci Airport from April 2019, strengthening its European network.
A contract has already been secured with one of the airport’s largest airlines and further business wins are anticipated shortly. Q8Aviation has appointed Levorato Marcevaggi to handle the intoplane service and is a shareholder in the airport’s storage company Seram.
Served by more than 80 airlines, Fiumicino is Italy’s busiest airport in terms of passenger numbers and accounts for more than 40 per cent of the country’s total jet fuel consumption.
Julian Amesbury, Planning and Business Development Director at Q8Aviation, comments: “Fiumicino is a very significant addition to our network. Italy has a deficit in locally produced jet fuel which, combined with growing demand for air travel, provides valuable opportunities.”
Naser Ben-Butain, General Manager at Q8Aviation added “Q8Aviation is already well represented on a number of Italian airports so it pleasing that we have now supplemented this position with a marketing presence on the largest national airport. We look forward to growing our business further.”
