Q8Aviation has started marketing jet fuel at Melbourne Airport. This is the second airport in Australia where Q8Aviation offers a refuelling service, in addition to Sydney International Airport.
Q8Aviation has set up a strong supply chain to ensure reliability of supply to the airport. It has taken out a long-term lease on storage facilities at Hastings Terminal in Victoria, from where fuel is transported to the airport by truck. The into-plane fuelling service is provided by Skytanking.
Naser Ben-Butain, General Manager Q8Aviation says: “We are delighted to secure our first contract at Melbourne Airport and to strengthen our presence in Australia. Establishing a robust supply chain over which we have direct control ensures we can deliver excellent service and demonstrates Q8Aviation’s seriousness to become a leading player in this fast-growing market.”
Melbourne Airport, also known as Tullamarine Airport, is Australia’s second busiest airport for passenger numbers after Sydney International Airport, with more than 22m passengers in 2022/23. It continues to report strong growth following the COVID-19 pandemic; most recent statistics show that passenger numbers returned to almost 88% of pre-Covid levels in March 2023.
